31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Classic Blue Color of the Year Mugs (2020)

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS (2020): Classic Blue Color of the Year Mugs

Pantone Color Institute's color of the year for 2020 is Classic Blue. Classic blue, according to Pantone “instills calm, confidence and connection.” It is a solid and dependable blue, something that we need more than ever in 2020. Pantone calls the color number 19-4052. Due to differences between the images seen on my computer and the real item, please do not expect that the color on the mugs will be an exact match to Pantone's classic blue (as shown in the border on the image above) but do expect to find a lot of similar blue mugs.

Today's post, number seven on my latest 31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS series, is dedicated to ten handsome classic blue coffee mugs.

ART POTTERY MUG

I opened this page with a lovely handmade art pottery coffee mug direct from the artisan’s pottery wheel and Etsy. Bleu Marie Pottery and her classic blue mugs can be found on Etsy by clicking here.

CORNISHWARE MUG

Love this Cornishware blue and white striped coffee mug!

Next up I'll share this handsome white and blue Cornishware mug, which can be found as a single or a as a set on eBay by clicking right here.  I like the vintage styling though this is a new mug, not a vintage one.

STARBUCKS MUGS

Starbucks has a bunch of interesting coffee mugs, new and used, that incorporate classic blue into them (as shown above) like the fun mosaic blue mug from 2008, the two-tone scaled mug from 2017 and the handsome mermaid-tailed one from 2020. Take your pick by clicking on the link above.

PIER 1 MEDITERRANEAN MUG

Pier 1 Mediterranean Mug

If you enjoy patterns, you might choose Pier 1's Mediterranean pattern, which is pretty with all the patterns and designs and the bold, classic blue handle. You will find it here on eBay.

ROYAL NORFOLK MUG

Royal Norfolk Square Blue Coffee Mug

Royal Norfolk's square bottomed, two toned glossy mug is a handsome choice. It is discontinued but available currently on eBay by clicking here.

EMMA BRIDGEWATER MUG

Emma Bridgewater Blue Birds Mugs

Emma Bridgewater has a host of mugs available with classic blue on them, like the ever-popular love themed mug and the bird themed one shown here. See what an eBay search for Emma Bridgewater blue mugs turns up right now by clicking here.

SNOW WHITE MUG

Evil Witch Coffee Mug from Disney's Snow White

Finally, I'll throw in this fun Disney mug. It is stunning with a glossy opalescent finish and a color that matches Pantone's classic blue color very well. It is a truly a handsome choice for someone who loves Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is not widely available but I do have one in my eBay store right now. Click here to find it in my eBay store.

A mug is a very affordable way to add a bit of this year's color to your home décor! Which blue mug is your favorite?

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Emma Bridgewater Diamond Jubilee Mugs

Emma Bridgewater Diamond Jubilee Mugs

This Emma Bridgewater mug is another darling piece in the line that celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012. It measures 3.5 inches in height and holds 10.5 ounces of your favorite hot beverage. You can click here to see what mugs from this series are currently available from eBay.

The product line, however, included other attractive pieces like a teapot, a dish cloth, a plate and an apron.

Emma Bridgwater Diamond Jubilee Teapot
I am a tea drinker -- I always put tea in my coffee mugs and I would really put this beautiful Emma Bridgewater Diamond Jubilee teapot to good use. It is also made in Emma Bridgewater's factory from English earthenware. It measures 8 inches tall and holds 4 cups of tea, brewed exactly as you like it, of course.

One review that I read was from a buyer who says that she purchased this teapot for her 88 year old mother who is British. She says that her mother loved the sentiment "Steadfast and True" that is written on the teapot as well as the fact that this teapot celebrates the Queen and her Diamond Jubilee. The teapot now resides in the center of her mother's treasured display!

Emma Bridgwater's Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee tea towel is a great gift idea for Royal Family followers.

Handsome piece. Emma Bridgewater's work once again celebrates the Royal Family's Diamond Jubilee.

Emma Bridgwater Diamond Jubilee apron - Steadfast and True.

When I first wrote this page, these pieces were available on Amazon. However, when I was looking today I discovered that there are not many of these items available there anymore. You can, however, find them on eBay by clicking right here

Any of the pieces in this set would make a wonderful gift idea for someone who follows the life of Britain's Royal Family and who has a royal memorabilia collection. I would love to own them all and I do not have a Royal Family collection. How about you? Are you a fan? Of the Queen and her family? Of Emma Bridgewater?

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Starbucks' Emma Bridgewater Coffee Mugs

Starbucks' Emma Bridgewater Coffee Mugs
Emma Bridgewater says, "I'm a coffee addict and can't really get through the morning without it, so I was delighted when Starbucks asked me to design a mug that really encapsulated everything that was great about Britain."

If you love a handsome mug like the ones produced by Emma Bridgewater and the ones produced by Starbucks, you will LOVE this collaboration between the two companies, which saw the production of a mug that fans of both brands and of Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family will love.

In 2012, Starbucks commissioned Emma Bridgewater to create a limited edition mug for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebration. A limited run of only 6,000 of the mugs were made, guaranteeing it to become a very special collector's item indeed.

On this page, if you have not already seen it, you can check out this unusual and very handsome Starbucks coffee mug, learn a bit more about it and even find out where you can buy one for your collection.

Picture used with permission from blogger Another Goldfish, whose blog is at this point only open by invitation.

What's The Story of Starbucks' Emma Bridgewater Diamond Jubilee Coffee Mug?

The Starbucks' Diamond Jubilee coffee mug was handmade in Emma Bridgewater's Victorian factory in Staffordshire, England and features that company's design talents and fine craftsmanship. At the end of May, 2012, it was sold at about one hundred Starbucks coffee shops.

Are These Starbucks Mugs Really Handmade?

In a blog post on Starbucks' blog, Emma Bridgewater says that at their factory, the Staffordshire Potteries in Stoke-on-Trent, they make and decorate each and every piece by hand. The company feels that it is important to keep these skills going and do so in a Victorian factory that strives to meet the area's heritage of world class ceramics. They believe it is important to nurture talent and maintain the manufacturing heritage of Britain.

This short video will give you an idea HOW Emma Bridgewater products are made and, if you are anything like me, it will make you want to travel to England to visit the factory. I have been to England but was blissfully unaware of Emma Bridgewater at the time.

You Can Own A Limited Edition Emma Bridgewater Starbucks Coffee Mug Via the Sellers on eBay

I've never actively followed interest in a limited edition mug like this Starbucks & Emma Bridgewater mug. Since only 6,000 mugs were made, I'd assume that demand and the value of these mugs will only increase. As I write this, this handsome piece is selling on eBay for up to $60 plus shipping.

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: A Squirrel Mug

We regularly watch the antics of our neighbourhood squirrels out our kitchen bay window. They frequently make us smile although sometimes they make us frown. This week they have not found a way on to the bird feeder yet so we're still smiling at them.

The episode of the never-ending show outside our window this week involved a black squirrel carrying a bagel all over our yard. We were not sure what he was up to nor where he found the bagel so we presumed that there must be a squirrel coffee shop in the neighbourhood that we do not know about but that the squirrel does. Maybe it came from the same 'shop' from which he was given a muffin a few days ago.

Anyway, after much fussing, Mr. Squirrel finally stopped running about the yard and carefully placed the bagel in a crook of our smaller tree and left.  I was amazed that he would abandon such an obvious treasure. My husband figures that he could only eat so much at a time and that he had to put it down somewhere.  I thought it was more likely that he had forgotten the peanut butter and had gone back to the squirrel coffee shop to retrieve some...

Remarkably, the bagel sat there untouched by other squirrels and birds for hours.  Someone eventually removed it because when I looked again it was gone.  Hopefully, Mr. Squirrel returned with his peanut butter and finished it off.

Anyway, it was because of that squirrel that I went in search of a squirrel themed mug for this post, the seventh in my series, the 31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS.  I found a couple of mugs that I liked, including this lovely, realistic squirrel mug by Emma Bridgewater but I settled on the mug shown on this page because of the humorous slogan and handsome design.

The mug shown here is by Canadian artist Mia Lane and Wild Wings reads, "This place is a nut house."  Even if that is only sometimes the case in your home, you are bound to like this mug if you enjoy the antics of the squirrels in your yard.  I love the image, the quotation and the sculpted handle. You can find it on Amazon by clicking right here.  It turns out that Wild Wings has a large assortment of sculpted Canadian wildlife themed coffee mugs and even a couple of very interesting mug racks. You can see them all on Amazon by clicking here.

I know that the quotation on this mug was not intended to actually reflect the action in my backyard this past week but if the shoe fits...

Are squirrels a source of entertainment in your home?

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Emma Bridgewater Hearts Mug for Valentine's Day

Fourth in my series of THE 31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS is a mug appropriate for Valentine's Day...or any day you want to show someone that you love them.  It's a heart-themed mug from Emma Bridgewater.

Emma Bridgewater is a company in Britain that has been producing beautiful ceramics since 1985. Personally, I love all of their designs and this mug is no exception. I'd love to drink my daily cuppa' tea from it. Who wouldn't?

In case it's a heart-themed mug you are looking for but the person you want it for is NOT your sweet heart, take heart. (Pun intended.) This mug is also available with no wording. Just a dreamy white background with pretty pink and red hearts scattered about.

It is also available with the simple but very important word, Mummy on it.  That mug is perfect for any child, young or old, who wants to gift their mother with a coffee mug and show them how much they are loved. If a mom you know would love this mug, maybe it is worth ordering it now, well in advance of Mother's Day. It definitely would be a top-rated gift idea for this mommy!

You can find this and other Emma Bridgewater heart-themed mugs on eBay by clicking right here. When I checked just now on eBay, there were 36 different Emma Bridgewater items with hearts on them available from the sellers on eBay.  If you like this pattern and these colours a lot, make sure you do not miss the heart covered teapot when you look on eBay. What a Valentine's Day tea party you could have with it on your table!
