31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS (2020): Chalkboard Coffee Mugs

Chalkboard Coffee Mugs

Why not put your coffee mug to work? Use it as a form of communication!  Grab your chalk and get ready to play with your coffee today.

For the fourth day in my 31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUG 2020 series, I bring you chalkboard coffee mugs. The exterior surface is used as a blackboard allowing you to pick up a piece of chalk and personalize the mug in any way you like.

I think that it would be a fun to have one of these mugs and I decided that I would choose a plain one that you can customize with any message like Happy Birthday, Good Morning or I Love You, perhaps with a drawing like the one shown above in the photograph by Flickr photographer maggieda or below in the photograph by Fatma Alemadi or maybe you'd just like to play Tic Tac Toe on your mug.

Konitz Chalk Mugs

Konitz created an interesting and varied selection of chalk mugs. They strive to be on top of the trends in fashion, design and life in order to put them on a mug for you. They are located in Germany and were founded by the Rosenthal family, the creators of Rosenthal Porcelain.

Starbucks Chalk Mug

Starbucks Chalkboard Coffee Mugs

The chalk art at Starbucks' coffee shops is very popular and actually a draw and source of entertainment for some coffee drinkers. It comes as no surprise then that Starbucks actually made a line of chalk board coffee cups although these are a little different than the rest of the mugs on this page because they come already decorated. They are a good idea for people who love Starbuck's artwork and want the chalkboard look.  Click here to find this Starbucks' Chalk Mug on eBay.

Do you think you would you have fun with a chalkboard coffee mug?

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Personaliteas Mug (2020)

For day THREE of the 31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS, I bring you a novel-tea. That is, a fine bone china mug from artist Jumble Sailor in a design called Personaliteas. It’s perfect for anyone who loves their tea in a mug, like me!

The design on the mug was Jumble Sailor’s entry into a tea towel design competition by ToDryFor’s tea towel competition in the United Kingdom. It is made by Beast in Show and available through Jumble Sailor’s Etsy store.

Vintage inspired, I love the illustrations. You can drink your cuppa tea with Camilla Chamomile, Olly Oolong, Brian Breakfast and friends and of course, I won’t tell if you put coffee in your mug. The design is all around the mug and even features a friend called Rosy Lee in the bottom. She’s there reading the leaves whether or not you used tea leaves (or even drank tea).

This mug is a unique gift idea for the tea lover in your life. It is hand decorated in a winning combination of light blue and deep red in Stoke on Trent in the United Kingdom. It measures 3 1/2 inches (9 cms) deep by 3 1/3 inches (8.4 cms) wide and is microwave and dishwasher safe.

This mug has so much personality! Find your personaliteas mug on Etsy by clicking here and don’t miss the matching tea towel while you’re there.

You never know what
I might have in store for you!

Good Vibes T-Shirts for Women

Good Vibes T-Shirts for Women

I like to think that I am a positive person. I try to look at the upside rather than the downside, especially when times are tough like they are right now as the world struggles to survive this deadly virus. I know that people are struggling. Some are not working while others, like front line workers, are working long, hard hours. Still others are working from home, which sounds great but has issues, especially if you have children staying home with you.

Still, there are a lot of positive things happening out there. Take for instance, the Canadian Stronger Together Concert and Heinz's Ketchup Red jigsaw puzzle both of which raised money for food banks in Canada. The daily news, despite having to carrying sad and disturbing tales of what is happening in the world, always tries to end on a positive note by sharing some of the ways that people are coming together. Folks are decorating their homes with flags, artwork and more.

Stay Home Stay Safe, Stronger Together, We've Got This, We'll Get Through This, Keep Calm and Carry On,  Keep Smiling, We're All In This Together, This To Shall Pass and French Canada's Ça Va Bien Aller are a few of the positive messages you will find being passed around on the news and on social media.

If you want to broadcast a positive message, you can choose to wear your message. I smiled when I stumbled across this collection of t-shirts from a shop called Shop August Ink on Etsy.  If you're feeling overwhelmed, you can reassure yourself and others with "It's okay." The "Sunshiny Feelings" tee will make you and those who you encounter feel warm and fuzzy.  Finally, if you don't want to wait for good things to happen, you can instead choose to "Make Magic."

Andrea, who owns this Etsy shop, calls them Good Vibes t-shirts.  I'm thrilled to share her good vibes here! Her creations are hand screen printed and available in a variety of color and size choices. You can visit her shop on Etsy by clicking right here. Meanwhile, here's another look at my three picks:

As Andrea and Marie Kondo say, "Choose Joy!" You've nothing to lose and so much to gain.

Hocus Pocus Halloween T-Shirt

Hocus Pocus Halloween T-Shirt
Here's another Halloween item sure to make you smile though this time it is a fun t-shirt instead of my usual coffee mug, LOL. It reads, "It's All A Bunch of Hocus Pocus" which references the truth or reality of the statement as well as the very successful 1993 movie Hocus Pocus, which has a cult-like following and which starred Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker. This tee is created by Printed Tulip on Etsy and is available in a wide variety of sizes and colors. I like how this one is accessorized. I think you will like her other designs, which include the opportunity of a custom t-shirt, one that will say any quote you like.

If you are looking for a fun Halloween shirt, you might consider this one, which you can find on Etsy by clicking right here. I love wearing a Halloween-themed tee in the month of October. How about you?

Halloween is coming!

Boo Y'all Halloween Coffee Mug

Boo! Y'all Halloween diner-style coffee mug.
Every now and then a coffee mug makes me smile and I like to share it here with you on my this blog. In this case, I was perusing the internet looking for an interesting Halloween specimen. I found this one and it made me smile.

It is a hand painted diner-style coffee mug. Diner-style, in case you do not know, means that it is thick walled and heavier than your average coffee mug. It is microwave and dishwasher save.

It reads, “Boo! Y’all” and is done in the seasonal Halloween colors of orange and black.

The creator lives in the southern parts of the United States though she says she is not from there. That, she explains, is where the ‘Y’all’ comes from. It is an expression that people in and from that part of the world are reported to use. It is, I guess, sort of like the word "Eh" that Canadians like myself are reputed to say. Since the creator, Diane of Knotwork Shop, was willing to admit that she uses y’all, I must admit that I sometimes use eh.

Diane also says that she thought that “booyah” sort of sounds like “boo! Y’all” and that that was the inspiration for the expression on this mug. Booyah, by the way is used when you are excited about something. I believe it even has a corresponding hand movement.

Note that the mug is hand painted and made to order, and therefore it is likely to vary slightly from the picture. Diane says that she is happy to customize it, which you can buy from Etsy by clicking right here.

Boo! Y'all

Happy haunting to y'all!

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Liquorice Moon Studios Handmade Mugs

I am loving this copper striped coffee mug from Liquorice Moon Studios.

It is handmade from Australian stoneware clay and then kiln fired three times to give it extra durability and strength. May your coffee be strong and your cup be stronger!

If you're looking for an unusual choice, this or one of the other designs by LMS might be for you. It would make a particularly handsome gift idea.  I can picture using this mug for my morning cup of tea and dream that it would be served in bed, Downton Abbey style.

Find LMS's cup collection on Etsy by clicking right here.  Don't miss all of the five-star reviews from all of her happily mugged customers!
