Fixer Upper's Chip & Joanna Gaines Play The Newlywed Game

I am not a designer, my house is far too busy operating as an eBay store to be artfully arranged. However, that does not stop my husband and I from watching and thoroughly enjoying television programs like HGTV's Fixer Upper.

As a matter of fact, we are like so many others eager to know more about Chip and Joanna Gaines who are entertaining to watch but also very talented at what they do in this popular television program.

I smiled then when I discovered this video in which the talented duo play The Newlywed Game.

I am not sure that my memory would serve as well were my husband and I to sit down and play this version of the Newlywed game though I think it would be a fun game to play at a family or friends gathering.

Did you know Chip and Joanna are releasing a book that tells their story? Interestingly, when The Magnolia Story appeared on Amazon it instantly zoomed to the top of Amazon's best seller list. It is meant to share answers to the questions that fans want to know like: "Who are these people? What’s the secret to their success? And is Chip actually that funny in real life?" It'd be a great gift for anyone who enjoys the series and who is interested in the couple's story. It's on my wish list.

Are you one of the myriad of people who enjoy Chip & Joanna Gaines work on Fixer Upper?

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Sarah Spademan's Handmade Pottery Easter Peek A Boo Coffee Mugs

Sarah Spademan's Handmade Pottery Easter Peek A Boo Coffee Mugs
I have never done a post on Easter coffee mugs and I realize I am doing this one a bit late for Easter of 2016. However, these handmade pottery mugs by Sarah Spademan are just too darn cute NOT to write about...they might make it to you on time if you were to order now and besides that, there is always next year.

They're white on the exterior with a colored interior and a hidden peek a boo animal on the inside. Spademan calls them Animugs. I call them cute.

Each mug holds 12 ounces of your favorite steamy hot beverage and Spademan says they are dishwasher and microwave safe though I would be inclined to NOT put them in the dishwasher. They are so lovely that I would be scared that doing so would shorten their life. She also says they are lead free. Something else to be pleased about.

If they are just too darn cute for you, hop on over (Easter time pun intended) and check them out on Etsy by clicking right here. You will be glad to know that Spademan does a large variety of critter themed cups that are suitable for use all year long so you can have one without making it Easter specific if that is your preference.

So how about it? Do you use an Easter-themed mug? Will there be a Sarah Spademan coffee mug in your collection?

Watch for another Animug post here soon.

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Liquorice Moon Studios Handmade Mugs

I am loving this copper striped coffee mug from Liquorice Moon Studios.

It is handmade from Australian stoneware clay and then kiln fired three times to give it extra durability and strength. May your coffee be strong and your cup be stronger!

If you're looking for an unusual choice, this or one of the other designs by LMS might be for you. It would make a particularly handsome gift idea.  I can picture using this mug for my morning cup of tea and dream that it would be served in bed, Downton Abbey style.

Find LMS's cup collection on Etsy by clicking right here.  Don't miss all of the five-star reviews from all of her happily mugged customers!

31 DAYS OF COFFEE MUGS: Green Coffee Mugs for St. Patrick's Day and All Year Long

Green Coffee Mugs for St. Patrick's Day & All Year Long!

St. Patrick's Day arrives shortly on March 17 and I am going to have to pick a green coffee mug in which to drink my tea. I do not actually own any dedicated St. Patrick's Day mugs though I would love to. However, I do have a few green mugs that will do the trick because as you know on St. Patrick's Day anything green will do the trick.

I have created this collage with a grouping from some of the green mugs I have on hand right now and my collection is likely to change.  However, given the choice today, I particularly like the mug with the diamonds on it that goes gradually from green to yellow at the top. It's a handsome piece by Elite Couture. The others include vintage Turi Design mugs from Norway, Portmeirion Swirled cups and saucers, a round Niagara Falls mug, Royal Norfolk ribbed round mugs and Wendy Tanock's best friends mug. As a Twitter user, I like the little bird that appears on the other side of that last mug. Of course, any of these mugs will do to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

This collection of green mugs, especially the two in the lower left hand corner, also make me think of spring and a recent visitor who saw this image said that it reminds him of the 1970s and olive green in the kitchen and I can see that though only two of the styles shown here are actually vintage pieces.

Anyway, for those of you who love green, click here to have a peek at the green mugs in my eBay store!

How about it? Will you be using a green mug on St. Patrick's Day? Or maybe all year long?

TRAVEL GIFTS: Personalized Cork World Travels Map

TRAVEL GIFTS: Personalized Cork World Travels Map
TRAVEL GIFTS: Personalized Cork World Travels MapWe have always wanted a world map to mark with the locations around the world that we have visited though we have never actually acted upon that desire.

Today I found this fun item, which allows you to do exactly that. It is a personalized cork world travels map designed for you to mark the places you have visited with a thumb tack though it might be worth your time to seek out some little pins. I picture the ones with flags on them like you might see in the movies though I have no idea if anyone actually makes and sells them. They would have to be small. I suppose another alternative would be to use the pins with the little balls on the head. I found Amazon's flag pins here but be sure to read the reviews and shop carefully.

Back to the map. The maker personalizes each map by adding your name or names as shown here. Ours would read "Chris and Brenda's Travels" or maybe, in an effort to include all of our family members, "The Travels of the Littles."

The map is 16 by 20 inches so beware that it is not like one of those giant maps you had in the classroom at school. It is a bit bigger than a standard place mat but not much. Actually a nice size, unless you are picturing a bigger piece.

You can read more about this map and check out the other maps from the same maker on Etsy by clicking right here.  I think a personalized map would make another fun gift idea for a couple of world travellers or armchair dreamers.

Who would you give it to?

Happy trails to you!
